Mojo Slab is a slab serif text typeface with a little extra mojo. One of the most unique features is the cuts on the crossbars arms and legs inspired by the traditional metal typesetting inkwells in typefaColibrî is a Mexican bistro located in the San Fransisco Presidio. The client was looking for a contemporary rebrand while still keeping the equity in their popular hummingbird logo. The challenge was to create a cohesive ecosystem of type, icons and color built around the existing logo while still elevating the brand.ces such as Univers. The slab showcases heavy radial edges on exterior serif brackets while the interior brackets utilize hard angles to provide an angled interior counter forms while allowing the overall letterform to feel soft best seen in the W, X, Y and Z. The bowls most notably in the lowercase forms of the a, b, and p are rooted in perfect circles with rounded feet and beaks. The overall build of the serifs was also done in consideration of its appearance in 3D, as the bracketing and size provides the perfect opportunity for extrusion and abstraction.
